I commuted to Santa Rosa from East Bay in Northern California for several years. I'd often take the rural Petaluma route through farm country. The soft texture of pastel gives this sketch an indication of red barns passed by quickly on the roadside.
Hi Dave... Well, I like this one. We seem to have done a lot of the same things. I started life as an artist... drew from about age 4, worked in oil, etchings, sculpture, etc. Quit as I hated my art teacher in college, switched to English Lit and became a copywriter. I still sketch once in awhile, but not often. Too busy writing and editing. Was going to try to get to your film meeting, but I've been going to pool therapy, balance classes and doctors constantly for two weeks and am really tired most of the time... god, it is hell to get old! Happily this is the first year I have felt it. Interesting zine... you are a busy person. If you have time I'd love to have you come and see all the bookbinding projects I have done, and have planned... there is never enough time for it all, is there. I'm working on doing something in the poetry line here... have never found a group I liked in the SF area. I must start sending out my poetry, as if I leave it, my daughter will simply burn it all. My blog, which is not much more than keeping in touch with my own and my sister's kids is writer347.blogspot.com/ "My Day Through a Tall Window in SF"... I live across from Mission Dolores, and the phone number is 415-241-9777 Peg Cartwright
